Benefits of Learning This New Language

Public discussion Created by Allanah King

I am about to lead a learning session at a school based around the new curriculum.

I am trying to draw together what the benefits would be to learning this new language.

From my slides what might we add that hasn't already been mentioned.....

    New Language

    Benefits

It's a great graphic. Sadly digital technology is a very broad and encompassing term that can be used to describe many things in education. Here in NZ it refers to the DT specialist curriculum. Digital Literacy is what a lot of teachers need (as in upskilling) and there is, I think, going to be a more concerted effort to increase the literacy of teachers. After all, if the teachers can not do it or understand it, how can you expect pupils to?  Digital literacy in my view is the responsibility of all teachers, not the DT teachers.

That's an interesting graphic- thank you- I was thinking more about the Draft Digital Curriculum specifically- the benefits of computational thinking and designing digital outcomes.

            Kia ora Allanah

I don't know if this will be of any help but it was for me when defining what Digital Fluency is and what the new Digital Technologies Curriculum. It's from the Australian Curriculum- Digital Technologies Hub. It's an info graphic that defines the difference clearly and also some of the language around it.

Is this the kind of thing you were after to add to benefits of learning a new language with a particular focus on the Digital technologies/Hangarau Matihiko Curriculum?
