How do you develop and promote student agency in your setting? It's more than just giving some choices and asking for feedback. In this workshop we will examine the skills your students need to be self-directed learners and how to provide the scaffolding needed to develop these skills. We will also explore some of the systems that will support student agency and how digital tools can further enhance your programme.

Learning outcomes

  • have an understanding of what student agency is and could look like in different contexts
  • understand some strategies for enhancing student agency applicable to their setting
  • begin planning for a teacher Inquiry focussed on enhancing student agency.
