It gives me great pleasure to be involved in this programme.  I was born and raised in Nelson, attending Auckland Point, Nelson Intermediate and then Nelson College.

I attended Christchurch College of Education for 3 years beginning 1988 and started teaching at Tahunanui in Nelson.  I moved to Clifton Terrace School in 1997 and stayed there until the end of 2006.  In 2007 I started as principal at Mapua School.  I loved my time at Mapua.  However, it turned out to be a short lived appointment as I decided to apply for principal at CTS.  One of the reasons for this change were my three kids who were still at CTS.  I was going west whilst the kids were going east.  Seemed a bit silly!  I was lucky enough to win the job at CTS and have been here ever since.

I love the job but have been very careful to remember that it is just a part of who I am.  First up I'm a dad and husband.  Teaching can be all consuming and it's very important that a balance is maintained.

I love my sport but as time has gone on, my contributions have become more about supporting my kids in their activities.  Having said that Jo and I spend a lot of time walking with Henry our Golden Retriever.
