This short piece https://www.controlaltachieve.com/2020/04/no-join-meet.html  has great tips for teachers on how to ensure students are safer online by restricting who has access to a Google Meet and when - ie like Zoom where you can ensure that the link can only be used when you as host are present. Also contains an extra bit for school admin people who have to do something at their end to make sure this function is possible.

This is really useful. Just got our tech admin to enable Meet recording last week so good to know how we can make this safer for all involved. - By Marg Macpherson
