DETAILS

How might we unleash the powers of innovation in Māori students, so we can cultivate, nurture and channel their natural gifts for the betterment of everyone? Māori students descend from greatness. Innovation is inherently in their DNA. If our ancestor Māui is anything to go by, our ‘Māui’ students are destined for great things! They’re already likely be pushing the boundaries, taking risks and coming up with creative solutions to problems and issues we are all faced with.

It’ll take innovative teachers and leaders to truly unleash this potential in our tamariki. If you are up for the challenge, come along and hear ways in which we can all achieve this.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the seminar, you will have:

  • explored how to cultivate and nurture innovation in Māori students
  • shared ways in which design thinking can be used as a framework to support innovation
  • explored how we can enhance the innate abilities of Māori students to support success.
