DETAILS

Come and learn from those who have taught in bicultural and/or culturally diverse settings what will work for you as well. This action-packed workshop will give you lots of ideas and strategies for ensuring you connect with, support and fully engage the learners and whānau from all cultures in your setting. A particular focus will be on Māori and Pasifika learners but ideas and resources will be applicable to many different contexts.

Learning outcomes

Participants will:

  • evaluate current practices and pedagogy and learn about more culturally responsive practices
  • learn practical ways in which your school might effectively reflect the bicultural heritage of Aotearoa
  • learn about ways to meaningfully engage with and create partnerships with students, whānau and the wider community.
