About me

Kia ora,

I am an early childhood teacher in Greymouth. I was born in Greymouth and grew up here, but left at 17 to study Commerce at the University of Otago. I graduated with a degree in Accounting and a diploma in Advertising, then headed to Taiwan to work in business and to learn Mandarin. I eventually found my love for teaching was stronger than my desire to be an accountant, and I taught in private and public schools in Taiwan for nearly 20 years. In 2015, my family and I headed back to Greymouth so my children could get to know their NZ grandparents and experience NZ schooling. I completed a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Teaching at the University of Canterbury and now work in a 2-year-old room at a local preschool. This year, I am completing a Certificate in Gifted and Talented Education.

I believe toddlers need teachers to fight for their place in ECE as competent and capable learners.
