About me

Kia Ora, Kia Orana, Talofa Lava,  Malo e lelei, Bula Vanka!

I am a father, teacher and surfer. These are the 3 things I am most passionate about.
I am a Porirua boy. Attending Aotea College, and living and teaching in the area for over 25 years through different stages of my life . I absolutely love and feel very connected with Titahi Bay where I currently live. I grew up learning to surf in Titahi Bay and this is still one of my great passions and is very important to me.

After graduating from Wellington College of education in 1993, my education journey has been a challenging but rewarding experience. I have worked in 5 schools; Predominantly these been multicultural inner-city urban or suburban schools but also spent seven years at a country school on the Coromandel Peninsula as well as teaching in South Korea for one year.

My travel experiences, three years in South East Asia, really opened my eyes, providing me with great opportunities to experience other cultures and learn about myself.

Though my greatest love of all is my teenage son Otis who provides me with the love, laughter and happiest essential to maintaining a well balanced lifestyle.
