I am an ESOL coordinator in two schools in Tawa but also work online for CORE as the ePrincipal of the Accelerated English Language Learning programme. I am experienced in catering for English Language learners in primary and secondary schools and am very familiar with the English Language Learning progressions.
As part of my role in schools I lead professional development in literacy, oral language and catering for diverse learners. As ePrincipal I have led change in incorporating teaching as inquiry, formative assessment and focusing on acceleration. As a team we explore blended learning and the use of digital technology to provide both synchronous and asynchronous differentiated learning. I am also very interested in the interplay between Universal design for learning and ESOL principles.
I live with my husband, three children and the cat. In my spare time I sing in a 40's style big band, do pilates and read science fiction.
