Vivienne Mallabar

About me

I am an Assistant Leader of Learning at Ormiston Junior College, a year 7-10 school in Flatbush Auckland. I am a foundational leader involved in the set up and design of the schools localised curriculum. I have an interest in assessment and localising a curriculum through the lens of values and beliefs. I have just joined the executive of the New Zealand Institute of Assessment and chair the Auckland branch to help build connections and support connecting of others to build evaluative capabilities in students and students. My thesis competing my masters this year was exploring "Narrative Assessment and Digital Badging at a junior college to build self-assessment capabilities". I am on the Primary Maths association as I believe that fostering a self belief in maths mindsets is mandatory for future success in maths. I love the beach, nature in any form and family/friendships!
